About Me
I’m Jaeden Watkins, a photographer, filmmaker, and editor, from High Point and Greensboro, North Carolina. I’m a senior at North Carolina A&T State University studying Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in Mass Media Production.
My interest in storytelling started with my high school’s yearbook and grew into documenting sports, music, entertainment, and HBCU culture. I’m drawn to the preparation, personalities, and smaller moments that help audiences understand the bigger story.
My experience includes photography and videography with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), social content for the High Point Rockers, and supporting event coverage and production with NC A&T’s Special Events team. I also directed, produced, filmed, and edited Under the Surface, a documentary following basketball player Martin “Marty” Giant through the HAECO Tournament. My coverage of J. Cole’s NC A&T visit generated more than 4.1 million combined views across Instagram and TikTok.
Whether I’m following an athlete’s journey or capturing the energy of a live event, I want my work to help people feel like they were there. I'm seeking opportunities in creative production, team media, and branded storytelling as I work toward becoming a director and creative leader.
